Those pictures gave a vivid visualizations to the essay. They provived a better understanding to the readers that how was it like during the "Department of Agriculture". Also, as the old version, black and white kind of photos, they deepened readers' impression on the topic.

A couple stood in front of their so called "house", which was actually an old tent, they looked directly into the camera. Their facial expressions were plane. as if they have finished doing a day's hard work. Although, their overall facial expressions were plane, but there seemed to have a slight curve upon their lips.

After several nights' hard rain, the road that used to served as walking path had been flooded with water. There were two girls carrying a buckets to remove the water away from their "home". Those huge containers lining across in the picture were people's homes. Without any privacy, people who lived there closed up their curtains, in order to feel a little bit safer. This must be a warm spring, because the tree had just experienced hard rain and winter and left leafless.

Two kids are playing in front of their "home", who seem not have been influenced by the horrible surroundings. All of their furnitures are laied out around their tent. There are some branches set at the end of their tent, in order to suppport the tent more stabily. Another boy peaking from inside the tent seems like he just woke up from a uncomfy nap. Overall their condition doesn't seem to affect the kid's moods on playing.
